Privacy Policy – NovaClean

1. Local Storage Scanning & File Data

NovaClean operates entirely on-device. All scanning algorithms that identify junk files, duplicate photos and videos, large files, social media cache, screenshots, old downloads, and empty folders process your device's storage locally.

• No Cloud Uploads: We do not transmit, upload, back up, or mirror your photos, videos, documents, or any other scanned files to any external servers or cloud services.
• No Content Inspection: We do not analyze, read, or harvest the contents of your files beyond what is technically required to detect junk, duplicates, and large or old files (file name, size, location, and modification date).
• Explicit Selection Before Deletion: Scan results are never pre-selected for deletion. You choose exactly what to remove, and a short grace period lets you undo a clean-up before files are permanently deleted from your device.
• Local Access Only: Storage permissions granted to the App are strictly used to perform the scanning and cleaning operations you request directly.

2. Device Permissions Required

To perform its core cleaning functionality, NovaClean may request the following system permissions:

• MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Enables the scanning engine to traverse file directories and delete files you select for clean-up.
• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO: Allows the App to identify large media files, duplicate photos and videos, and screenshots taking up space.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The App uses trusted third-party SDKs to provide advertising, in-app purchases, and performance diagnostics:

• Google AdMob: Serves ads within the free tier. Where required by law (e.g. in the EEA/UK), we present a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before requesting personalized ads. On iOS, the App requests App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization before using the advertising identifier for personalization; ads are still shown if this is denied, without personalization.
• Google Play Billing / In-App Purchase: Processes the optional one-time purchase that removes ads. Payment information is handled directly by the app store (Google Play or the App Store) and is never seen by us.
• Google Analytics for Firebase / Crashlytics: Collects anonymous telemetry (such as crash reports, feature usage events, and device/OS version) to help us improve stability and performance. This collection respects the advertising consent choice described above.

4. Data Retention & Security

Because scanned and cleaned files remain exclusively on your device until you choose to delete them, we do not maintain servers or databases containing your personal files. Disabling permissions or uninstalling the App immediately halts all App operations. We recommend using device-level security (PIN, fingerprint, or password) to protect your local files.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App does not target or knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, and ad requests are explicitly tagged as not directed at children.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect updates in app functionality or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
