1. Information we Collect

Our app does not collect, store, or transmit your scanned documents or their contents to us or to external servers. All scanned documents and related data are stored locally on your device. Text recognition (OCR), language detection and the optional AI assistant described below all run on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

Since our app does not collect user data, no information is processed or shared outside of your device. However, we use third-party services that may collect usage data for analytics and advertising purposes (see Third-Party Services).

3. Third-Party Services

We utilize third-party services that may collect certain data independently, including Google AdMob for advertising and Firebase for analytics and crash reporting.

4. On-Device AI Assistant (Android)

On Android, the app offers an optional AI assistant that runs entirely on your device using a Google Gemma language model. The text of your questions and of the documents you choose to discuss is processed locally by the model. It is not sent to us or to any third party, and we do not store or review it. The AI assistant is not available on iOS.

Model download. The assistant needs a model file (about 2.6 GB or 3.7 GB) that you download only when you choose to. The file is downloaded from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). As with any download, this reveals your IP address and basic request information to Hugging Face, which handles it under its own privacy policy. The download runs as a foreground service with a visible notification and can be cancelled at any time. You can delete the model at any time in Settings.

AI output disclaimer. AI-generated answers can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or inappropriate. They are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. You are responsible for verifying anything important before relying on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible or liable for the AI output or for any decision made or loss suffered as a result of relying on it. The model is provided by Google (Gemma); your use of it is also subject to the Gemma Terms of Use and Prohibited Use Policy.

5. Data Security

All document-related data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted outside the app. We recommend using your device's security features to protect your data.

6. Your Choices

You can choose to disable data collection by Google AdMob and Firebase by adjusting the settings in your Google account or opting out of interest-based ads on your device.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
